GreenPois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak now available

iOS 4.1 greenpois0n jailbreak white iphone

After a short two-day delay, the iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool is now available for download. Unfortunately, like Limera1n before it, it’s a Windows-only tool for now, and the OS X version should be available shortly. We used Limera1n to jailbreak an a couple of days ago, and while it’s nice to have tools like SBSettings, and BiteSMS back in our lives, we’ve found that quite a few of the jailbreak apps that we know and love are in beta, pending a full release that is compatible with iOS 4.1. Still, we’re definitely happy to have our phones functioning the way we want them to, rather than the way Apple wants them to. GreenPois0n is free, and supports iPhone 4, iPad, iPhone 3GS, and the third- and fourth-gen iPod touch.

Wal-Mart slashes iPhone 3GS price to $97

Wal-Mart iPhone 3GS $97

So the iPhone 3G has been discontinued, and now Wal-Mart has gone and lowered the price of the iPhone 3GS down from $197 to $97—a full $100 drop. The change gives credence to the rumor that Apple will be dropping the price of the iPhone 3GS to $99 with two-year contract, and that the 3GS will take the place of the 3G as the entry-level iPhone device. As we stated previously, we thought it would behoove Apple to keep the 3G around as the free with contract phone, then use the 3GS as the $99 device, and finally use the as the flagship model. We think that would be a good price structure to take on Android, but hey, we aren’t Apple—let’s see where this all ends up.

In the meantime though, as enticing as a $97 iPhone 3GS might sound, just wait to see what gets announced at the WWDC 2010 keynote first, m’kay?

Ellen Degeneres makes fun of iPhone, Apple cries foul

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Videos,

has taken their brand control measures to a ridiculous level this week, as they’re now even targeting major television talk shows that happen to parody their devices. So basically, super funny comedienne Ellen Degeneres played a skit showing how confusing using an could be, you know, just for laughs. Apple got wind of the situation, and someone actually reached out to the Ellen Show to let them know that they didn’t appreciate it. In the video above, Ellen apologizes, saying that she loves her iPhone, her , her iPod…and even IHOP. Classic.
